  • AirBnB – there are a couple of good options near NIBIO but they get booked early
  • Reenskaug Hotel in Drøbak (http://www.reenskaug.no/ (in Norwegian)) – by the Oslofjord about 25 minutes by bus from Ås, 1 400 NOK p.p. and night, breakfast included

 

How to get to the meeting:

There are trains from Oslo and Ski to Ås every hour (18 min past the hour from Oslo, 42 min from Ski). It is a 15 minute walk from the train station to the venue at Ås Campus.

Social Programme (optional)

  1. Pub crawl in Oslo:

Friday evening after the official program we go to Oslo to visit some traditional pubs and bars. We leave by train from Ås and can pick up people at Oslo Central station on our way.

  1. Sightseeing in Oslo on Saturday.

This is a chance to see the best parts of Oslo while walking and talking with colleagues:

A .By foot: we take the train to Oslo Central and walk over to the beautiful opera house, then through the oldest part of the city including the Akershus castle and fortress, down to the City Hall, Aker Brygge and out on Tjuvholmen, a new and fancy part of the Oslo waterfront.

  1. Or by car: we visit some of Oslo’s main tourist attractions, such as the Ekeberg sculpture park, Vigelandsparken, and the famous Holmenkollen ski jump stadion.
