As a forest manager in Skåne, Sweden he has been particularly focused on creating forest cultures that are relevant from an investment perspective, both focused on innovation and cost reduction.

Hans Christian Graversgaard (The Danish Forest Owner Cooperatives (Skovdyrkerne)).

The Forest Owner Cooperatives have introduced the concept "Forced cultivation of quality hardwood", which is an alternative to bulk production and offers opportunities for increased earnings through high value production and a renewal of choice of species. An introduction to the concept is given along with experiences about marketing new ideas and exploiting the possibilities of small forests.

Rational decisions in forestry are based on knowledge about the forest's stucture and products. A new forest resource map based on nationwide laser scanning provides new opportunities for rationalizing forestry's operational planning as well as support sustainable management.
